These are a series of daily pictures of the tree outside my window. I love the way seasons change in London and I wanted to capture part of it.
As I looked at the tree every day, I reflected on the perfection of nature, its beauty and orderliness. Although this is just a changing tree, it captivated me. It reminded me to appreciate things I normally take for granted: the summer, sunlight, windy and fresh days. I tend to notice such things by their absence, just like I notice the missing leaves and flowers on the trees.
A Light exists in Spring
by Emily Dickinson
A Light exists in Spring
Not present on the Year
At any other period –
When March is scarcely here
A Color stands abroad
On Solitary Fields
That Science cannot overtake
But Human Nature feels.
It waits upon the Lawn,
It shows the furthest Tree
Upon the furthest Slope you know
It almost speaks to you.
Then as Horizons step
Or Noons report away
Without the Formula of sound
It passes and we stay –
A quality of loss
Affecting our Content
As Trade had suddenly encroached
Upon a Sacrament.
